Samsung Issues 'Fire-Proof' Boxes for Returning Note 7s
Now that Samsung has ceased production of its fire-prone Note 7, the company is arranging for the return of all the potentially hazardous smartphones. To do so safely and in compliance with government regulations, and presumably to prevent igniting any mail or courier trucks, Samsung is providing customers who bought their phones from the company's website with the option to receive a pre-paid fireproof box.The people behind XDA Developers, a site dedicated to coders who focus on cellphone software, have posted a YouTube video showing the box that they received. The return kit, according to the video, includes the "thermally insulated box," gloves for handling the device and detailed instructions.

Samsung Note 7 'Calamity' Joins Notorious Recalls of Cars, Foods

Note 7 Recall: Samsung Will Destroy Phones, Not Refurbish
Samsung has issued a global recall for the Note 7, again. But this time, rather than swapping out affected devices, refurbishing them, and trying to salvage the phone, it look like Samsung is going to completely kill off the device. The company confirmed to Motherboard that every single device it receives back — which will hopefully be all of them — will be "disposed of," rather than repaired or refurbished.DON'T MISS: This video might be our first look at a new Apple device no one even knew was in developmentSamsung has confirmed that it has some kind of unspecified process in the works to dispose of the phone.
