Canadians will soon be scanning their fingerprints – and eventually their irises – for pokemon/" target="_blank">sung/" target="_blank">Samsung Pay transactions, reports android/" target="_blank">android/" target="_blank">AndroidCentral.To be clear, it hasn't been officially announced by Samsung.The news came via a Twitter user who asked Samsung when the service would launch in Canada, and took a screenshot of a reply indicating that it will launch in the country "from the first week of November, 2016".The reply also said that CIBC would be the first bank to support the platform, through its Visa cards.

Of the different mobile payment solutions, pokemon/" target="_blank">sung/" target="_blank">Samsung Pay may as well be one of the most successful so far at expanding to different countries and implementing new features.After launching in South Korea then quickly following up in the USA (and later Puerto Rico) in 2015, it has come to China, Australia, Brazil, Singapore, and Spain.These 7 countries will be joined by 3 more before the end of 2016: Malaysia, Russia, and Thailand.Samsung says this will bring the total of countries to 10 in 2016, which leaves a question mark regarding the promised availability of the payment solution in Canada and the UK also by the end of 2016.

On the heels of Google's announcement that it is planning to expand android/" target="_blank">android/" target="_blank">Android Pay's reach on the mobile web, pokemon/" target="_blank">sung/" target="_blank">Samsung this week unveiled its own mobile web agreement and new features for its payment service.In a Wednesday release, Samsung said it has signed a new global partnership with MasterCard to offer simplified online payments and express checkout via the latter's Masterpass solution.The service, which is available in 33 countries, will allow Samsung Pay customers to use saved MasterCard debit or credit cards and shipping information to complete online purchases.Samsung said the partnership also allows users to make purchases from any of their devices, including computers, tablets, and smartphones.
