as mentioned in It has learned that not only will Samsung release three Galaxy S10 models, but all three will come to market with in-display fingerprint readers. The premium Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ will use ultrasonic display-based sensors while the entry-level model will have an optical sensor. Consequently, by including an optical in-display reader into a cheaper version of the Galaxy S10, Samsung is redefining what users can expect from midrange smartphones. But in 2019 the Galaxy S10 will see Samsung break boundaries again, before the company then introduces something even more radical...___Follow Gordon on Twitter, Facebook and Google+More On ForbesSamsung Partner Confirms Galaxy S10 Is 5G CompatibleSamsung's Galaxy S10 Has Significant Design ChangesSamsung Says Folding Galaxy F Won't Be Mass ProducedGalaxy Note 9 Vs Galaxy Note 8: What's The Difference? Samsung Limits 5G To Just One Galaxy S10 Model
In a new report, it confirms Samsung will limit the 5G capabilities built into Galaxy S10 to just one limited edition model of which production will be "negligible". The Bell specifies this as a maximum of 2 million units out of 40 million Galaxy S10 models produced in 2019. Given the Galaxy S10 will be a circa-$1,000 multi-year investment, buying such an expensive phone next year without 5G seems foolhardy. So what would motivate Samsung not to strip 5G from the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ when both variants of chipset the company uses (Qualcomm's Snapdragon and its own Exynos range) will be 5G-capable? With Android rivals expected to leap aboard 5G in 2019, Samsung's Galaxy S10 may well be left behind, and that would be a great shame.
