Samsung Leak Suddenly Reveals Galaxy Note 9 Release

As it stated in It is almost certain we will wave goodbye to the Galaxy Note range this year. Secondly, with Samsung having already confirmed the Galaxy Note 9 launch event will take place on August 9th, it means the company is pushing out the phone significantly earlier and faster than the Galaxy Note 8 (launched August 23rd on sale September 15th). Samsung acknowledged there would be an "early introduction of the Galaxy Note" in its second-quarter earnings, but declined to give an exact date. Ultimately, it seems highly unlikely the Galaxy Note 9 can deliver the sales figures to save the Galaxy Note range given its increased price, key feature cancellations and conservative design. That said, it also stays true to the Note's philosophy of 'bigger is better' with multiple sizeable upgrades and its battery life promises to be a game-changer…___Follow Gordon on Twitter, Facebook and Google+More On ForbesGalaxy Note 9′s Huge Battery Confirmed By Brazilian GovernmentSamsung Suddenly Confirms Radical Galaxy Note 9 UpgradesSamsung's Galaxy Note 9 Is Very ExpensiveSamsung Filing Makes Galaxy Note 9 OfficialSamsung's Radical Galaxy Smartphone Costs $2,000

Samsung says Galaxy Note 9 will be 'reasonably' priced

NieuwemobielIn its earnings call Tuesday, KyeongTae Lee, Samsung's mobile business head stated "We aim to expand the sales of flagship models via an earlier-than-usual release of a new Galaxy Note, which offers exceptional performance for a reasonable price." He didn't mention the Galaxy Note 9 by name, but it's no secret that we expect that to be the model announced on Aug, 9 at Samsung's Unpacked event. Samsung announced its new Galaxy Tab S4 tablet today, in advance of Unpacked. A "reasonable" price means different things to different people. Price is one of the few things we don't know about the Note 9 yet.

Samsung Ads Tease Major Galaxy Note 9 Features

As it stated in Samsung is ready to cancel the Note range and the Galaxy Note 9's eye-watering price is likely to be a big reason why. This is the largest battery Samsung has ever put into a mass market smartphone. The Galaxy Note 9 changes this and it will come with an industry-leading 512GB with its microSD card able to add a further 1TB. Granted the Galaxy Note 9 doesn't cost $2,000 like Samsung's real passion project, but it's a big ask in a year when Apple will cut iPhone prices. Still, if the Galaxy Note series is to end, then at least the Galaxy Note 9 will do it by staying true to what made the series such a hit in the first place: making everything absolutely massive…___Follow Gordon on Twitter, Facebook and Google+More On ForbesSamsung's Galaxy Note 9 Is Very ExpensiveSamsung's Galaxy S10 Is A Truly Massive SmartphoneMassive Galaxy Note 9 Leak Details All-New FeaturesSamsung Filing Makes Galaxy Note 9 OfficialSamsung's Radical Galaxy Smartphone Costs $2,000

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Leak Reveals Sudden Cancellation

That said, it seems Samsung is taking criticism very personally as a new leak from within the company's supply chain reveals the Galaxy Note is facing a sudden and unexpected cancellation…According to popular Korean site The Bell, Samsung is seriously considering scrapping the Galaxy Note brand completely. In fact, The Bell states that the fate of the Galaxy Note range largely depends on customers' response to the Galaxy Note 9. A cancellation would see the Galaxy Note "merged" with the Galaxy S range, but there's no detail on how this takes place. For example, the Galaxy S range got the 'bezel-less' design first, the Galaxy Note range got dual cameras first. ___Follow Gordon on Twitter, Facebook and Google+More On ForbesMassive Galaxy Note 9 Leak Details All-New FeaturesSamsung Filing Makes Galaxy Note 9 OfficialSamsung's Radical Galaxy Smartphone Costs $2,000Samsung's Galaxy X And Galaxy S10 Plans RevealedSamsung's Galaxy S10 Is A Truly Massive Smartphone

Samsung 'Accidentally' Confirms Massive Galaxy Note 9

In a new tweet, the tipster (whose track record includes breaking the Galaxy Note 8, attaining the first Galaxy S8 real world photos and dissecting the Galaxy S9 four months before release) has obtained a full-page Samsung advertisement for the Galaxy Note 9. The bad news is the ad confirms the Galaxy Note 9 has a disappointingly iterative design which is almost identical to the Galaxy Note 8, except for the fact we know it will actually be heavier and thicker. You can also see the new central alignment of the rear fingerprint sensor, which confirms the cancellation of an in-display reader (now saved for the all-new Galaxy S10). Especially given the warning signs Samsung got from the Galaxy S9, which is struggling after a similarly incremental upgrade from the Galaxy S8. Good thing then that Samsung is only marking time in 2018, as its plans for 2019 have already revealed something far more radical and boundary-pushing arriving early year…___Follow Gordon on Twitter, Facebook and Google+More On ForbesGalaxy S10 May Have Up To Five CamerasMassive Galaxy Note 9 Leak Details All-New FeaturesSamsung Filing Makes Galaxy Note 9 OfficialSamsung's Radical Galaxy Smartphone Costs $2,000Samsung's Galaxy X And Galaxy S10 Plans Revealed
