Ultra-large TVs, OLED applications, 5G, and the Bixby ecosystem are marked as drivers for Samsung's future growth, according to an earnings forecast released earlier today. Sales of premium television sets are up however, as the televised fervour surrounding the 2018 FIFA World Cup continued to drive adoption. And Samsung is eager to point out their 50% market share in sales of 'ultra-large' televisions – or those passing the 75-inch mark. In 2018, at least, Samsung is pinning its hopes on the Q9S television, which is expected to launch later this year. Other areas of focus include the advent of 5G connectivity, the growth of the Bixby ecosystem of smart devices, and increased integration between customer products and services such as Samsung Pay.

Taking inspiration from the Samsung QLED TV's chameleon-like qualities (Ambient Mode) and to celebrate the 2018 range, Samsung 'disguised' a QLED TV in a jungle setting in Dundrum Town Centre on Saturday, 21st July. Samsung Quizmaster, Brian Dowling, invited passers-by at random to participate in a quiz to test their TV knowledge to be in with a chance of winning a QLED TV. Whether it's live or recorded, only Samsung QLED TV is certified to deliver 100% colour volume meaning the five new Samsung QLED TV owners will get to enjoy spectacular movie nights at home and experience sporting games as if they are in the stadium. Samsung's 2018 QLED TV line-up features new innovations that enrich the lives of consumers by reimagining how TV integrates into the living room, how consumers enjoy their content, and how they interact with their devices. A key feature of the 2018 QLED TV range is Ambient Mode, which does away with the black screen.
