New Galaxy S10 Will Lose In-Display Fingerprint Reader

The Galaxy S10 is not what you expect. The ever-reliable SamMobile reports Samsung will not bring its long-awaited in-display fingerprint reader to the entry-level Galaxy S10. Of course, the obvious question to ask is: Why would Samsung take such a risk with such an important phone? Samsung is expected to release three Galaxy S10 models, rather than the usual two with the third an 'entry-level' device. Having seen both its phones and their sales stagnate in 2018, I commend Samsung for trying to do something different.

Samsung's Galaxy S10 Has Significant Design Changes

Yes, the Galaxy Note 9 has problems but now we know why. Samsung is saving all its radical upgrades for the 10th anniversary Galaxy S10…In a new report, historically accurate Korean site The Bell reveals Samsung will equip the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10 Plus with four and five cameras respectively. Breaking this down, The Bell says both models will have triple rear cameras and while the Galaxy S10 will have just one front facing camera, the Galaxy S10 Plus will have two. We already know the Galaxy S10 will integrate the Galaxy Note 9's biggest omission and a redesign which will finally see Samsung utilise its bezel-trimming technology to the full. Something that is increasingly important when the company's true 2019 game-changer is going to cost over $2,000…___Follow Gordon on Twitter, Facebook and Google+More On ForbesNew Galaxy S10 Will Lose In-Display Fingerprint ReaderMassive Galaxy Note 9 Leak Details All-New FeaturesFCC Reveals Galaxy Note 9 Has Exciting New S PenGalaxy Note 9′s Big Battery Has A Serious ShortcomingSamsung's Galaxy X And Galaxy S10 Plans Revealed

Samsung's Galaxy S10 Has Significant Design Changes

Samsung's Galaxy S10 Is A Truly Massive Smartphone

as mentioned in Of course, many expect Apple's biggest new iPhone (details) will be 6.5-inches, not 6.4-inches, but consistently reliable Korean site The Bell states this will actually be 6.46-inches while the largest Galaxy S10 (the 'Galaxy S10 Plus') will be 6.44-inches. As for the Galaxy S10's in-display fingerprint, or 'FOD' (fingerprint on display), Kuo says Samsung will use an ultrasonic technology on the larger two models with the cheaper Galaxy S10 will reposition the fingerprint reader on the side. Kuo claims Samsung will "aggressively" market the two premium Galaxy S10 models around their in-display fingerprint readers. What's more, Samsung looks to have its mojo back with the Galaxy S10 following disappointing sales of the Galaxy S9 with Kuo predicting sales of 40M units. And this should be just the start of an ambitious 2019 for Samsung because the Galaxy S10 is merely the side-show to an even more ambitious phone…___Follow Gordon on Twitter, Facebook and Google+More On ForbesSamsung's Galaxy Note 9 Is Very ExpensiveGalaxy Note 9 Leak Details All Its New FeaturesGalaxy Note 9′s Big Battery Has A Serious ShortcomingSamsung's Folding Galaxy X Smartphone Costs $2,000Budget Galaxy S10 Will Lose In-Display Fingerprint Reader
