according to Patent documentation soon launched with the World Intellectual Property Administration (WIPO) has uncovered which Samsung may be working on over-the-air (OTA) wireless charging tech for its smartphones and tablets. OTA wireless charging is unique and different from the existing forms of charging in which it doesn't rely on any contact among the smartphone and the wireless charger. OTA wireless charging works over a larger range than Qi wireless charging, such as being in the same room as the charging unit. It's worth noting which a handful of other organizations, involving Disney, are endeed working on OTA wireless charging technologies. However, we're some years away from seeing OTA wireless charging make its way to regular everyday use.

While the existing Qi tech based wireless charging of mobile devices itself is yet to earn widespread usage across markets, the Korean giant Samsung probably working on an even further sophisticated over-the-air wireless charging technology. It is too being indicated which the range possessed with the OTA charging source is too wider than what the Qi tech could offer. However, the OTA wireless charging tech may not get in the commercial world anytime soon. It is too learnt which besides Samsung, there are other companies too working on the OTA wireless charging tech and 1 of those companies is Disney.
