Samsung Electronics Expands Commitment to Autonomous Driving Technology

The Samsung Automotive Innovation Fund going to focus on connected motorcar and autonomous technologies, involving Intelligent sensors, machine vision, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, connectivity solutions, automotive-grade security solutions, security, and privacy. In addition to the fund, HARMAN, that was acquired with Samsung earlier this year, has established a new Autonomous/ADAS Strategic Business Unit (SBU). "The Autonomous/ADAS Strategic Business Unit and automotive fund reflect the company's commitment to the values of unlock innovation and collaboration. To date, Samsung has secured licenses for on-road testing of autonomous driving Programming and hardware under growth in Korea and California.

Samsung reported which it has determine up a $300 mn fund to invest in automotive startups and autonomous driving technology. Alphabet and Tesla have been testing autonomous driving technologies and Samsung elect Intel acquired Mobileye final 30 days in its own effort to get in the market. This isn't Samsung's premier investment in automotive startups. Previously, the firm has invested in AImotive and Renovo for automated driving, as well as other tech companies like Quanergy and Graphcore.
