"TIME" declare : Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Launch May Be August 23

The launch would serve as evidence that Samsung doesn't intend to give up on its six-year-old Note line after last year's disastrous launch. Samsung may be preparing to unveil its sequel to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 . Samsung traditionally uses these events to make big announcements around new products, especially those in its Galaxy smartphone line. The company has been known to debut new Note phones around the August and September time frame in years past. The South Korean electronics giant just sent out invitations for its next Unpacked event, which will take place in New York on August 23.

The Galaxy Note 8 has a problem, but it remains such a good looking phone even Samsung has started to 'accidentally' leak it. Like previous Ice universe renders I suspect these new images are generated from information it has received, rather than being actual press shots.

We all know the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is coming... Samsung told us during the fallout of the Note 7 battery fires that the Note 8 was definitely in 2017's portfolio. Sammobile reports:According to a report out of Taiwan, Koh said that there are a considerable number of Galaxy Note users in Taiwan. He also mentioned that the Galaxy Note 8 will be announced by the end of August. "The end of August" ties in nicely with the suggestions of a Samsung event on the 23rd of August in New York. Koh added that the Galaxy Note 8 will be released in the first wave of launch markets in early September while other markets will have to wait until October.
